    Green Printing For Good

    Are you concerned that you are wasting resources when pressing print? If yes, then watch this video.

    Today I met Augustus Casamayor, chairman/CEO of AC Graphics in Hialeah, one of the “greenest” printers around.

    It was very inspiring to learn that his business became the first triple-certified green printer in the state of Florida where the paper used is harvested, manufactured and used in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. Additionally, his company uses only vegetable-based inks – avoiding traditional petroleum-based products.

    Besides all of that he and his staff are all about recycling as I observed when taking a tour through his printing facility. He conducts monthly seminars to teach organizations, businesses (including other printers) and students how to become sustainable which includes the importance of preserving the world’s forests and the protection of the atmosphere by eliminating the use of fossil fuel.

    As a certified EcoBroker it lit up my day — I was happy to see someone with so much passion bringing on a new standard of care to the printing industry which he and his family have worked in for generations. Attendees of today’s event were also glad to learn that the printing price is not higher than standard prices. Although Mr. Casamayor bought into pricy German printing technology, he will keep the product price at the same level as regular printing so everyone can get onboard.
