Will there be a cost of some kind associated with this property that is beyond the cost I am willing to pay to have these benefits? This cost could be in the initial purchase price or in any form, but what costs are there, if any?

There is “no such thing as a free lunch.” In some cases builders and remodelers will demand a premium for homes with green features. In areas where there is more competition amongst these green builders and remodelers, they may be able to demand less of a premium, if any. Considering the energy and dollar savings potential of green home, a green home that is purchased for a similar price to a comparable conventional home is effectively being purchase at a discount.
